Ancient Roman coins are often used as documents attesting historical events. Here, Donatien Grau suggests that we shift our viewpoint, and look at the Roman imperial coinage as a text - the only fully extent one left in the process of writing history in Ancient Rome, thereby paving the way for a new approach of Roman history.
