CHCI is a global network of over 200 humanities centers, institutes, research libraries, and related organizations. Their mission is to support the future of the humanities by nurturing new forms and methods of global interdisciplinary collaboration. They leverage the multiple perspectives of the CHCI international network to shape the future of the humanities, cultivating new forms of multilateral collaboration and generating innovative models for research, pedagogy, and public engagement.

In 2018, IFK became a member of the CHCI. CHCI currently has a membership of more than 220 organizations in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Pacific Rim. Members include humanities centers at small, medium, and large colleges and universities, community colleges, independent scholarly societies, research libraries, and other institutes of advanced study.
